The Armasight by FLIR Spark is a Night Vision monocular based on Armasight exclusive CORE image intensifier technology. Thanks to the latest advancements in electro optical manufacturing Armasight brings you affordable night vision performance with CORE (Ceramic Optical Ruggedized Engine) Image Intensifier technology. Unlike Gen 1 Image intensifier glass tubes which require careful handling, CORE IITs are made just like Gen 2 and Gen 3 by fusing metal alloys with ceramic compounds and provide superior image quality with double of regular Gen 1 photocathode sensitivity - up to 400 pl/mm for better light amplification and double resolution - up to 70 lp/mm, for image detail rivaling Gen 2 image tubes. The Armasight Spark is a rugged lightweight Multi-Purpose Night Vision Monocular, it can be Hand Held and Camera Adaptable. The Spark can be used as a long range Night Vision Spotter in conjunction with state of the art 3x a-focal lens. The Armasight Spark is the best night vision monocular for it's price.
A new technology is being introduced to the consumer market currently. It was first shown at the 2012 Shot Show in Las Vegas, NV by Armasight. This new technology called Ceramic Optical Ruggedized Engine (CORE) produces much higher performance Gen 1 tubes. The main difference between CORE tubes and standard Gen 1 tubes is introduction of a ceramic plate instead of a glass one. This plate is produced of specially formulated ceramic and metal alloys. Thanks to the new technology edge distortion is minimized, photo sensitivity is greatly increased and the resolution can get as high as 70 lp/mm. Even so, CORE is still considered Gen 1 as it does not utilize a micro channel plate.
Thanks to the latest advancements in electro optical manufacturing Armasight redefines affordable high performance night vision with CORE™ (Ceramic Optical Ruggedized Engine) Image Intensifier technology.
Unlike Gen 1 Image intensifier tubes that are fragile by a virtue of being made from glass, CORE™ IITs are made just like Gen 2 and Gen 3 by fusing metal alloys with ceramic compounds. CORE™ technology is based on durable elements and allows tight component stacking, resulting in image tubes that are exceptionally shockproof and vibration resistant. This makes CORE™ IITs ideal for weapon sight application. Robust packaging envelop lacks easy-to-break protrusions common in Gen 1 tubes and allows for streamline design of lighter, compact and more reliable night vision devices. CORE™ platform offers best in class resolution with over 70 lp/mm, increased photocathode sensitivity level in upwards of 400 µA/lm and infinite (!) Signal to Noise (SN) providing image quality in prevalent ambient light condition rivaling high end Gen 2 image tubes.
